Dubbed "the Italian Flying Lotus", Milanese producer DayKoda (Andrea Gamba) is returning with the release of his second full-length project PHYSIS. Inspired by the relationship between nature and art, PHYSIS is the artist's most organic work to date.
As part of PHYSIS, DayKoda has welcomed the Pete Cunningham-led, Bristol-based group Ishmael Ensemble to remix 'My Abstract Monkey', the lead single released from the record at the end of 2020.
Kicking off with ambient clicks and a whirling bassy beat, this industrial-tinged remix is a step away from the lead single, feeling colder and existential than the original. Reminiscent of Floating Points with dashes of Mount Kimbie and Burial, the crossing rhythmic layers are utterly hypnotic. This atmospheric track could happily sit in a Sci-Fi soundtrack but is happily placed as the outro to a brilliant beat-heavy record.
