Not Quite Ripe is one half record label and one half events collective based in the heart of Leeds.
The label side of their sonic endeavours covers a range of genres with only one criteria - its gotta make you groove.
With upcoming releases from local bands, MCs and producers NQR has your musical bases covered with toe tappers and headbangers.
Two free to attend nights are already locked in at Oporto Bar in Leeds city centre.
The label’s launch night on 28th October will be a Funk / Soul / Hip-Hop / Afrobeat blunder! Kicking it off will be local legends Funk’d Up - who will later be joined by MCs Donimitsu and Teknico. Following this, there will be a multi-genre DJ set in the main bar by the Manchester / Leeds arts collective Endless City. Finally NQR’s resident osh will be closing the show with a variety of hip shakers. He has released a new tune recently, 'Module Massive', which is available on all streaming services.
The following Oporto based event, on 25th November, will take a more electronic approach with Liverpool based Beija Flo headlining, with other acts to be confirmed. It won’t be one to miss!
This finally brings us to December. There will be a debut single launch at Blueberry Hill Studios with Leeds 9-piece funk / soul / indie groovers Mondo Bizarre as part of the the established event 0800 Disco. Apart from that, you’ll just have to wait and see for more upcoming news!
